Literacy Poems

Today we got in groups and made a few poems using personification, we took turns writing a line each. Here were a few poems we made:

The Desert

Its dusty breath blows during the day
Blowing billions upon billions of sand away
Animals run from its raging fury
The sun rises as the sand burns
The sand glides down as the storm ceases
And the night crawls into the world as the sun falls

By Abdullah, Ben, Cesar, Ethan, Rashid, Mohammed and Umar

The Night Sky

When I look up at the darkness of the night sky
I see the moon beaming at me, from way up high
The stars glowed brightly in the night sky
The moon shone as i glared
The sun greedily gobbles the night as it slowly stands up for a new day

Chocolate Sale Success

On Thursday 18th February, normal year 6 pupils turned into business superstars.

The masters of buisness sold many delicious types of chocolates to most of primary. WOW! The year 6 shared area was instantly transformed into a money making machine! Because they were so succesful one third of our awesome groups sold out! So succesful!!! Some of them even had to say no to some chocolate cravers as they had to save them for the other years. Together the whole of Year 6 climbed the steep mountain of hard work and succeded to the top. HOORAY!!!

Year 6 should definetly be proud of their brilliant buisness skills! Now we have an uncountable amount of money to kindly donate to charity! Well done Year 6!

Stay tuned to find out how much we raised.

Choco Tasting

On Sunday 10th January 2016 the yr 6 owls class went on a chocolate taste testing mission. This was no ordinary taste test it was... Blind taste testing. The whole class was split into 6 groups to go on their Aztec voyage.

Some were bad yet some were delicious. Whilst tasting the chocolate they had to write down the taste, the look and the feeling. Are these chocolates good enough to get past their judging taste buds? The 6 flavours were 90% dark chocolate, 85% dark chocolate, 70% dark chocolate, chili chocolate, milk chocolate and finally the white chocolate.

The best (told by the class) was the milk, white and  dark spicy chocolate.

Which one would you buy? Bye for now and have a chocotastic day!

Art: People in Motion - Our Starting Point

In art we're about to start learning how to draw people in motion.  These were out initial draws where we focused on the form of the body, paying particular attention to the proportions and points of movement.

How do you think we did?  Stay tuned to follow our progress!
